My 90-Day Clean Raw Food Mission – Kristen Suzanne’s Raw Reboot™ – Update #9

Wow… I made it 60 days on Friday. Very cool.

So. Where to now? I answer that in the video below.

Question: Going forward, are you still interested in some of my food journals when they’re not all raw?

I asked on facebook about what makeup you were wearing on your videos…then you were doing your makeup here, so I thought I’d ask again:) Would love to duplicate that look:)…and yes, I love reading you food journals.

  • Linda

I love your generous spirit.  No restrictions, no rules and in my book that applies to the journaling as well.  Just go with it, whatever feels “right.”

  • Kelli

Yes, Yes, please continue the food journals.  They are so helpful and inspiring!

I have a post coming on the 27th where I share my latest hair and beauty products. I do have naturally wavy hair so I can understand the frizz frustration ;) I like to go to bed with it wet to help with that.

Good for you! I’m breastfeeding too (obviously!) and I did 60 days raw last summer. That’s about as far as I felt was beneficial. But the all-raw just wasn’t sustainable – and that was totally fine! 60 days is a great reboot and it sounds like you got what you were after.  =)

Also sounds like you’re moving forward *mindfully*, which was really the point all along, right? Luck!

I definitely made progress in some areas.

  • http://GreenMommyBlog.com/ Kristen Suzanne

Raw vegan yogurt, raw desserts, raw soups, smoothies. Lots.

Ok. Good question. I have a few things to share so I’ll do a video on it. Cool? :)

  • Devon

Oh good! I’m excited and look forward to seeing. My mom and I have been watching your videos these past few days and you always make us laugh… in a good way:) Your energy is contagious!!

  • Kimberly

Yes. Love the food journals they are really informative and give great guidance. Thank you for taking the time to put those together. It sounds like you got what you were looking for out of the raw-reboot….you look absolutely gorgeous and radiant! Love that some of the blond is back! Just watched your kitchen tour. My 18 month old has the same kitchen stand with her cooking tools. Chefs in the making. Thank you again Kristen for all of your amazing information and recipes. I really look forward to your blog posts.

So glad your going to to  a video and share hair & beauty.  I noticed your highlights and they look great. I’ve been using Morocco Method henna and I just can’t get those highlights. Any help you can give ?

  • elainie

I do raw until dinner, then I eat some cooked things like yams and steamed broccoli. It’s pretty easy and feels right for me because I don’t eat grains, legumes, gluten etc; and eating cooked veggies feels a lot better to me than eating high fat raw foods. I used to be 811RV and a lot of those gourmet raw vegan stuff is rough on my system.

OMG Kristen I feel like I met you this weekend from all these amazing videos. You are so adorable, funny and such a sweetheart !!!  Keep the videos and food journals coming….they are very helpful.  I feel like a whole different person since incorporating mainly raw food —-where in the world is this energy coming from??  I am loving it !!!

Yes keep posting your food journals! They’re always full of fresh ideas. When I’m not feeling sure about what to eat or what to “cook” for my family - I just check out your blog and voila! (btw, protein shakes and smoothies are life savers - filling, yummy and feel so good in my stomach). TWO Questions: 1) I’m also super interested in your make up tips – I’ve tried the “100% pure” line and didn’t like it at all. Which brands are you liking these days? Particularly for foundation? 2) Will you be blogging (maybe you already have :s) about herbal teas? Favorites? Have you tried “Spring Dragon Longevity Tea” from Dragon Herbs?

I miss you even more when I see your videos xxx BTW you are super high from all the raw food (in a good way!)

  • Kristen

I love you SS with all my heart!

  • Kristen

    Great! I’m so glad they’re helpful. :)))

Yes, I’m posting a video on makeup soon. Will try in the next 10-14 days. :)

Haven’t tried that tea… Safe for breastfeeding?

  • Kristen

It’s frigging amazing the energy isn’t it?!?!

Thx for the feedback. XOXO it was really special. :)

  • Kristen

It’s a typical foil process which I’m not sure you can do with henna?

  • Kristen

Thank you for sharing. Your comments warmed my heart. :) XO

  • Kristen

    Really?! Sweet!!!

  • suz

i love the food journals. i especially like to see the balance.   also question again about hemp milk- do you have a suggestion of which type of hemp seeds would make the best flavor of milk? and how long do hemp seeds store on a counter?

  • ib

    YES! YES! PLEASE CONTINUE.

  • Kristen

I buy shelled hemp seeds. They keep best when stored in refrigerator or freezer. About a year I’d say.

  • Katie

I would still be interested!  I like the idea of taking it day-to-day and feeling what the body wants.

I’ve upped my raw, and earlier today I was feeling empty, even though I had eaten a lot of fruit and veggies, and I remembered simple protein shakes.  A scoop of Sunwarrior, some Vega shake ‘n Go, and Ice water later, I was sated and feelin’ fine.

Thanks as always to all your recipes and helpful hints!

Sure keep posting the food journals if you are able. Appreciate anything you are willing to share. Thanks for all the recipe videos lately too.

  • Deb

Congrats!! Yayy! Day 60! it feels great to meet goals! :)  YES! continue with food journals – we are a mix of raw/cooked so it is appreciated to see both :)  p.s. love how real and down to earth you are with videos, so fun that you are casually putting on make up while sharing update with us!  :)….great idea to take it day by day! Deb

  • Teresafinley

Yes, love your food journals…keep them coming!  Also, I’ve tried Morrocco Method and like their products.  I called the company to ask about color treated hair and was told it was safe and would not strip the color.  Share your thoughts on this please.  Did you notice new hair growth with their products?  I’ve recently lost ALOT of hair due to stress and need it back! Mother-in-law was living with us but is gone now…whew!  Hope my hair grows back!

  • elainie

Def. interested in non all raw food journals, I’ve been thinking, you are very slender and burning a lot of calories, never had a weight issue so IMO don’t compare yourself to other raw vegan women (not mentioning names here) who are nursing and eat miniscule amounts. And you work out. Big difference. Just thought about writing that. I don’t think healthy cooked food is evil (have you read Victoria B’ and Elaina Love’s new book?) and doesn’t need to lead to gluttony etc;  Maybe try going completely gluten free (that eliminates a lot of cooked vegan food touted as *healthy*) and is sure to make a difference in how you feel if you do go back to cooked food. I’ve spent years being all raw, years being high raw etc; and I just eat according to what my body calls for, if it calls for all raw for a period of time whether it’s months or years I do it. I’ve learned not to get hung up/fanatic but I do eat clean food and will always do so. But I’m much more relaxed mentally (no I don’t mean I allow myself to pig out) and if I do happen to go off track (like I did during my last pregnancy- hello coconut milk ice cream sweetened with agave) a bit I don’t sweat it even though my body feels it. I just don’t want to get to the point where I’ve been before with having such a clean system that one cashew nut can throw me off with nausea/ vomiting for hours on end (used to happen to me).

  • Carahamill

Great video! Definitely NOT too long. And yes, I love to see that you post things that are not all raw. My goals are to do raw cleanses, but be more intuitive about things than strictly raw. So, I love to see how you do your healthy cooked foods too!!

  • Wendy Butler

Congratulations Kristen….I found your raw reboot very motivating.  I have been interested in eating raw for years, slowely increasing the amount.  Your reboot motivated me to finally get serious, so I have started my own 30 day raw food challenge.  The funny thing is I am not really finding it a ‘challenge’ at all, I am really enjoying it!  Thanks for giving me the push I needed to commit to this wonderful and uplifting way of eating! :)

YAY!!! I’m thrilled for you! Keep it up and please keep me posted! Email me if you need extra motivation :) XOXO
