I’ve blogged about our plans to travel the world. At first we thought to plant ourselves in Mexico for 3 to 6 months, but we changed our minds.
We will make it to Mexico, but we’ll explore that part of the world in a few years.
We decided to start our worldschool adventures of learning languages, cultures, and customs in Europe. Perhaps Italy to start, with the overall plan to explore most of Europe (eastern and western). I can’t wait for pizza in Naples, yogurt in Bulgaria, and crepes on the street in France.
Are we scared to just up and move?
Nope.
Will we miss our family?
Sure… they can visit us. :)
We are excited to see that the world is more than just the United States. We love the idea of “selling it all” and living from our suitcases, slowly traveling the world… Trying new foods, learning new customs, seeing the world and all the beautiful diversity it offers from land to art to people to food to customs, etc.
Exhilarating!
Truthfully, it’s hard for me to describe how I feel about the whole move. I’m excited about the change because I’ve always loved change. I was the kid who loved moving to new homes and starting new schools. Deeper in me, though, I can’t wait to meet people from other parts of the world. I want to experience their customs and ways of living. I want to step outside of my comfort zone and grow as an individual. I desire to also see the world through my daughter’s eyes.
I’m eager to challenge my brain with new languages. I want to stretch my soul and shatter the boundaries in which I too often put myself.
How it will change my family! Forever.
As we get closer to our departure date, tentatively June 2018, I’ll share more about the planning and packing. And, of course, we’ll share our world adventures as they happen.
