Kristen’s Raw 31st Awesome Giveaway – A Year of Beauty

by Kristen in awesome giveaway

How many of you color your hair? As I noted in my last post, I added a few highlites back into my hair… specifically around my face (that’s a pic of me leaving the salon). I like change, I like to play, and I like to have fun. Unfortunately, most hair coloring products do much damage to both you and the environment. While there’s still no perfect solution (in my opinion), there are some better options available. Enter: Tints of Nature.

Tints of Nature is new to being available to the consumer for home use (Whole Foods will start carrying it), but it has been used in many organic salons for awhile now, under the name Organic Color Systems. So, for those of you who want to save some cash by changing your hair color at home or if you simply don’t have a salon nearby who uses this brand, then I have a cool giveaway for you to enter.

Here’s what the folks at the company, Tints of Nature US, wrote to me:

You don’t have to be a celebrity or enjoy a celebrity budget to have gorgeous, salon quality hair color that is free of toxins such as ammonia, resorcinol, paraben, and propylene glycol. You know top salons offer their clients the most innovative products for coloring their hair. But did you know the same permanent hair coloring formula used by many top salons can also be found in the natural beauty section of most specialty grocery stores?

Tints of Nature is the retail brand created by London based Herb UK, owner of top salon brand Organic Color Systems. Find this ‘natural beauty secret’ throughout the US in most specialty natural grocers and in all Whole Foods Market regions. Each box of Tints of Nature comes with a complete kit of essential and nourishing products to achieve salon quality results (color gel, color fix, clarifying shampoo, shampoo and conditioner).

Organic Color Systems (used in salons) and Tints of Nature (available for use at home) …  Same company, manufacture both brands. Ingredients + quality same.

Sweet! So… You could win A Year of Beauty!

The randomly selected winner will receive 6 boxes (retail 17.99/box) of color. Also, Tints of Nature just launched new packaging and new colors this year. The new boxes contain clarifying shampoo (preps the hair for best color result), nourishing shampoo and conditioner samples.

Let’s get to it! How can you enter for a chance to win? It’s simple! Answer the following question in this blog post’s comment section.
What color would you like to change your current color to?
The contest will end Saturday night, February 25th @ 11:59pm. I’ll enter everyone’s name who answered the question (and those who entered “other chances to win” listed below) into a drawing and announce the winner on my blog Sunday, February 26th. To see if you won… I will  respond below, in this post’s comment section to the winner’s submission. *Please note* —> This contest is only open to folks with a US mailing address where the prize can be mailed.

I want to go darker. I did so a few years ago and it looked great, but I’m afraid to chemical-ize my hair!

I just watched your protein shake video, and commented about your “gorgeous” hair. Yes, that’s the word I used. To my surprise, your contest is related to your hair. I’ve actually been thinking about brightening my color a bit after all these years of color-free hair (haven’t dyed it in about 8 years). I wasn’t sure what product to use, but knowing you’ve done your research, this may be the one. I’m thinking just a few highlights, something to make my hair shine more and add some dimension.

  • amyliabdla

Much to my co-workers’ chagrin, I’m a hair dye virgin/chickenshit, but would love to take my now  mousey-brown locks back to the fire-y red-brown of my college days in a manner that does not involve a ton of chemicals as I still like to donate to Beautiful Lengths.

  • Sarah C

AH, I am so in need of this product! It’s not so much the grey that is creeping in, but the fact that my formerly-golden brown is now mousy and drab colored. I want my lovely warm golden brown color back without the nasty chemicals!

  • Devon

Touch up the blonde highlights around my face.

  • Suehalfyard

I want a mahogany brown for my lovely locks then I’ll look more lush than I do already!!

  • Stacy

I would keep my reddish-brown, but get rid of the cursed greys!!!

  • KellyB

I like any color besides gray, I am way too young for gray hair.  I usually am some shade of brown

  • Susan B

Brown w- red hues! Really need to make the change over to organic color

  • Kellygroves13

I would go blondish.  My hair has been everywhere from medium blonde to medium brown, which seems to be what my natural color is now settling at.  While I do like the brown, I have a alarming amount of gray coming in (thanks genetics!!)  While coloring my hair brown seems to be healthier for my hair, the blond blends the gray better, allowing me to go more often between colorings.  I have been wanting to go back to blond, I just hate how the peroxide/bleach seems to destroy my hair.  But I am ready for the change!  I want blond again!

Definitely red!  Medium to dark…I have always found it to be the most unique and beautiful hair color for those who can pull it off (hope I can), but can’t stand the smell of the chemicals. Now I’m getting grays, and really need that chem-free option!
