Here is a powerful, post-workout-fueling (banana, celery, dates), muscle replenishing (hemp), rockin’ antioxidant filled (goji berries), blood- circulating (ginger) smoothie. It’s like one-stop-shopping with all of the delicious and nutritious goodies in it. Seriously! I can’t help but growl out “GGGRRR!” every time I drink it.
One of my favorite aspects of this beautiful light brown, red speckled smoothie is the hemp protein. I frequently proclaim to everyone in my classes, “Get Hemped!” Hemp protein is a great addition to everyone’s life (especially children). It’s one of the most effective ways to add a complete protein to your diet with plenty of fiber and omegas (essential fatty acids).
GGGRRRR! Beowulf Protein Smoothie

Yield 2 cups
1 cup water
2 bananas
2 stalks celery
2 dates, pitted
1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, peeled and minced
1 tablespoon goji berries
1 tablespoon hemp protein powder (I love Manitoba Harvest brand)
Blend all of the ingredients until creamy and smooth. Add some ice cubes for a chilly refresher. Enjoy this with your family as you all drink and growl “GGGRRRR!”
