My mom turned her backyard into a beautiful area ripe with fruit trees.
(I’ve written about her citrus orchard here.)
Everyone with a yard should do that. The power of being able to always have food you grow yourself for your family… well I’ll write about that another day.
I love my mom’s backyard and I’ll miss it very much when we move abroad. The moment I step into the back yard, surrounded by trees and fresh fruits, I’m just about brought to my knees. I can’t explain it, not really, but I’ll try.
Something about seeing trees bear fruit… I feel the energy and life-force. Witnessing something growing, being nourished and full of life – it simply energizes me. Takes over.
Last year, mom added two fig trees to her backyard. We didn’t expect them to bear fruit for at least another year, but low and behold, I found figs the other day.
I couldn’t help myself as I picked more and more. Eyes welling with tears.
What is it with me? Crying because of figs growing in the backyard.
Something powerful was going through me. I opened to it. Soaked it all in. Felt the energy and vibes from nature imbue me.
