I recently hopped on a plane for a day trip to Santa Monica, CA.

Why would anyone get on a plane for a day trip? Well, it wasn’t to spend time at the beach, though I did that.

And, it wasn’t to say hi to Buddha at Dragon Herbs, though that was cool, too. I was hoping to try some crazy tinctures while I was there, but the location to which we were nearest didn’t have the tonic bar. #NextTime

It wasn’t to have grass-fed burgers, but those were delicious.

It was to attend to Dave Asprey’s pre-opening party to debut his first Bulletproof Coffee Shop.

That was worth the trip. Big time.
Not only did Greg and I get to have some time together, but I was able to meet Dave in person, as well as others from the awesome Bulletproof staff. As some of you know, I was on Dave’s podcast a while back, and we’ve Skyped since for other reasons. But finally meeting in person was special.
Of course, we took some photos.

The Bulletproof Coffee Shop is chic and thoughtful.
Dave thought of every thing, big and small, to make the Bulletproof Coffee Shop experience like none other. It has sophisticated lighting that changes throughout the day to support our natural rhythms of life (day to evening), as well as electrically grounded furniture to optimize health in a world of modern gadgets, plus, duh(!), kick-ass awesome (Bulletproof) food and drinks to fuel brain and body. You can be sure this shop uses a lot of grass-fed butter.

The party was hoppin’! We filled our bellies with Bulletproof Coffee shots and Bulletproof approved foods including things like lamb broth with crisped mint on top.

The Bulletproof Coffee Shop had a Bulletproof Whole Body Vibe and I was all “ants in my pants” to give it a try! That high-tech body toy runs almost $1500. If I were ever to get one, um someday in my dreams, I’d have to try it first.
It basically vibrates your body in a healing way by moving lymph and strengthening you. I don’t know, but I’m kind of sold on it.
I loved the way it felt. Here’s my experience in pictures.

That’s not all though, Bulletproof Vibe Awesome-ness that it was … While we were there, we met a fun guy, Chris, who works with Pavlok.
Have you heard of Pavlok? If not, it’s this: (well, that’s the box it comes in).

Pavlok is a behavior modification device. It’s in pre-production right now, but it basically zaps you if you do something you don’t want to do in an effort to train you not to do it. For me, that’s picking at my face. I’ve improved dramatically over the years, but I finally might be able to stop completely by using a Pavlok.

At the end of the party, Chris generously gave me the Pavlok he had been demonstrating. Gushing with excitement I grabbed it!
I will blog about my experience with Pavlok in a future post, but know this. It’s been sitting in my bathroom, in the box, cuz well, I’m a bit shaky to zap myself (that said, I *did* try it at the coffee shop. I yelped but survived. Um, yeah, I think the thing will work to modify behavior). But, get this… it’s working on me and I haven’t even taken it out of the box! Just knowing it’s there keeps my hands off my face.
The Pavlok wasn’t all we left with from the party. Here are the great swag bags of Bulletproof Coffee goodies.

My new cup is getting plenty of use. Bulletproof coffee, anyone? Come to mama!

We loved the party, and were blown away by the coolness of the shop. It’s a wonderful thing when, as a mom (and, hey, just a person who wants the best products ever), I can feel peace about consuming things (and giving them to my family) that I don’t have to analyze, dissect, or think twice about. Life is busy, so I have extreme appreciation and excitement for foods (and places, like the Bulletproof Coffee Shop) that make my life easier. Dave Asprey and his team are accomplishing that with everything they offer. I eagerly await a shop in Scottsdale, AZ. In the meantime, I will have to catch a flight to Santa Monica for the experience.
Are you not sure what brain powering Bulletproof foods are? Curious about the Bulletproof Diet? Grab a copy of Dave’s New York Times Bestselling book, The Bulletproof Diet, to learn more. I love it (the diet and the book).

If you’re in Santa Monica, CA, stop by the Bulletproof Coffee Shop to experience it.
