I’m trying three groovy new things this week:
- Bar (the kind you eat)
- Herbal Cold & Flu Shot
- Pavlok (zapping behavior modding device)
Let’s dive in and start with the food. Duh.
A New Snack Bar (with grass-fed collagen with ingredients for beautiful skin).
Bar #1: Bulletproof Bar (available through this coffee link – click “protein tab” at the top)
This is Dave Asprey’s new snack bar. I wrote recently about traveling to Santa Monica to attend his pre-opening Bulletproof Coffee Shop party. When I arrived home that night, I found my shipment of Bulletproof Bars on my doorstep.
They were love at first bite.
In fact, I was not prepared for the deliciousness, when I tried the VanillaMax option. You know how it is… we health nuts often eat things because they’re good for us, no matter the taste. That wasn’t the case with these Bulletproof Bars. They tasted (and felt) like a shortbread cookie (but with only 2 grams of sugar). I’m happy to say they’re now my go-to bar because they are filled with brain (and body) building ingredients and they’re so delicious. I find myself having one for dessert more often than not. (The chocolate is good, too, but I prefer the vanilla.)
Convenience: I carry a Bulletproof Bar in my purse (along with other bars because, well, we like options), and on many occasions it saved me from crazy hunger in the most satisfying way. It bears repeating… these are good!
Here’s the ingredient list from the website.
Organic cashew butter, Bulletproof® Upgraded Collagen Protein, chicory root fiber, Bulletproof® XCT™ Oil Powder (Caprylic and Capric Acid Triglycerides sourced from coconut and/or palm kernel oil), organic cashews, Bulletproof® Brain Octane (Caprylic Acid Triglycerides sourced from coconut and/or palm kernel oil), organic coconut oil, Bulletproof® VanillaMax™ (lab-tested Madagascar vanilla beans), sea salt, stevia.

Next up with my new products… Cold & Flu Herbal “Shot” by Dr. Schulze.

I like to make my own tinctures and herbal medicines, but sometimes I also like to just buy it.
Enter: Cold & Flu Herbal “Shot” by Dr. Schulze.
This baby is one potent shot of herbs to give your immune system a swift kick in the ass for healing. Seriously potent stuff.
Upon finding it online, I was impressed (and excited). It’s filled with quality botanical ingredients in a very thoughtful combination (Echinacea Root and Seed, Garlic, Habanero, White Onion, Ginger, Horseradish, Acerola Cherry, Elderberry, Blackberry, Yarrow, Boneset, Desert Sage, Lobelia, Elecampane, Kola Nut, Coffee, Licorice, Cherry Bark, Horehound, Coltsfoot, Fennel, Thyme).
As a mom, if I’m sick I’m willing to pay anything to feel better. I don’t have as much time to let it “run its course,” but I also don’t want to resort to conventional options if I can help it. Let’s be real… food is great for building strong bodies in many ways, but it’s not always enough. So, I like having things like this on hand to help me, plus making sure I get tons of vitamin C (I mean it… I go high-dose), plus retinol, extra zinc, and plenty of rest.
Next up… Pavlok, a zapping behavior modding tool.

On that LA trip I mentioned earlier, I also scored a Pavlok.
The Pavlok is a behavior modification tool that is in pre-production right now. It’s basically a bracelet that zaps you with electric shock, if you do something you don’t want to do, in an effort to train you not to do it anymore.
For me, that’s picking at my face. I’ve improved dramatically over the years, but I finally might be able to stop completely by using a Pavlok.
For the last few weeks, it’s been sitting in my bathroom, in the box, cuz well, I was a bit shaky to zap myself (that said, I *did* try it at the coffee shop. I yelped but survived. Um, yeah, I think it will work to modify some behaviors). Right now, the bracelet zaps when you activate it yourself, but the future holds possibilities of software where it zaps based on certain motions.
Funny thing… it was working on me and I hadn’t even taken it out of the box! Just knowing it was there kept my hands off my face.
But, for the sake of science and sharing with you guys, I started using it recently. Instead of wearing it all the time, I just hung it in my bathroom (next to the mirror), and wore it to zap myself if I felt an inclination to pick.
It works. My nervous system does not like the zapping even though it’s not super painful. I have high hopes for this product helping people to stop some seriously unhealthy habits like smoking.
I captured an image of it zapping me, where it’s lit up, so you can see it in action.
Ouch. You’re welcome. ;)

Soon I’ll be sharing details of my love affair with Living Libations high-vibe beauty and oral products. These products are sublime.
