We finally got out and traveled, after spending the past year at home. And what do we do? Go surfing!
Well, if you call taking a surf board into the ocean and attempting to get on it surfing, then, yeah, I surfed.
And I was totally scared to do it, but you know me, I made a surfer self-talk script for it, tamped down that anxiety, and decided to give it a go. (Listen here about doing things that terrify you.)
I never got up on the board, though I tried (water was super strong and crazy that day, but it was also my first time, so I’ll have to try again and see how I do).
When surfing, you can fall a lot. And every time… you don’t even think twice… you get right back up!
No… you get your booty right back up on the board and try try try again. I anchored this idea every time I failed surfing because I was wowed by the experience of constant falling down and getting back up every time. Imagine applying that to everything else in life.
