by Kristen Suzanne in Uncategorized

Congratulations to Cocoloco! You won a copy of my book, Kristen Suzanne’s EASY Raw Vegan Holidays. Whoo hoo! Oh, and Cocoloco, it was one of your multiple entries that was randomly selected. If you live in the United States, you have your choice of either the print copy or the ebook. Email me with your choice.

Thank you for your participation everyone!

After reading all of these entries, I couldn’t help but start listening to my favorites. My top of all time is Carol of the Bells. After that, I’m crazy about Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree, Silent Night, and My Favorite Things (is My Favorite Things even a holiday song?!)

Boxed Greens, Mom’s Blog

by Kristen Suzanne in Uncategorized

I was not thrilled with Whole Foods’ produce selection the last time we went. Too often, it’s hit or miss with them. Limpy greens or poor selection one day and bountiful and wonderful the next. I bought a bunch of organic apples just to get them home and they were mealy. Yuck. So, this week, I ordered a bunch of fresh organic produce from Boxed Greens. They have an amazing selection (organic meyer lemons!). Stuff I can’t get at Whole Foods. It arrives Friday. It’s going to be a mega RAW weekend!!!

Today is a great day, too. We have Kamea’s 4 month check up in a few hours – I can’t wait to see how much she’s grown in the past month. Plus, Grey’s Anatomy and The Apprentice are on tonight – lol!

My mom started blogging. If any of you remember her when she helped me teach my classes…. well, I was responsible for educating and she entertained – haha. She is one funny woman and she finally has a new outlet for her stories…. blogging! If you haven’t checked it out yet it’s SunnyLarson.com. I’ll warn you now though… she is not always PG rated. ;)

Shopping Day

by Kristen Suzanne in Uncategorized

We’re finally heading home from our nice long stay at mom’s house the past couple of weeks. After we get home and unpacked, I’m going to give Kamea a bath and then we’re all going to head to Whole Foods this evening. It will be Kamea’s first trip to Whole Foods. Whoohoo! (lol)

I normally send Greg to do the shopping (since Kamea was born) and he’s done an awesome job – Yay Greg! But, this trip is a BIG shopping trip. Greg normally does little shopping trips. So, I’ve decided that we’ll all go this time. It should be fun!

Raw Mom, Cooked Dad Event!

by Kristen Suzanne in Uncategorized

Are you ready!? I can’t wait!!!

The Raw Mom, Cooked Dad Event! Straight from the Raw Divas…

“He likes beef.
You like broccoli sprouts.

He likes French fries.
You like Swiss chard.

Polarity can be a beautiful thing, but when it comes to healthy nutrition and feeding our families, then polarity can wind up being a royal PAIN IN THE BUTT!

There are a lot of women out there, and a few courageous men, trying to increase the percentage of carrot sticks and broccoli stalks in their family’s diet, but they are met with resistance, resentment and flat out protest refusing to look a cucumber in the eye!!

In the battle against an army of processed “cheese” slices, sandwich meats and soda pops, we need more than will power and nutritional pyramids to win!

We need wit, wisdom and gluten-free waffle mix!

After you see what I’m about to  show you, I’m sure you’ll agree that there’s never been a better chance at bringing salad-eating mamas and their steak-eating men together to the table for some healthy discussions about food in the family!

Over 40 of the world leaders in health, nutrition and raw food have come together to find solutions to the “Raw Mom, Cooked Dad” dilemma, and you can listen to all of them for FREE if you sign up before October 10th, 2010.” That date is 10/10/10 – easy to remember! Check it out!

Quiet Summer

by Kristen Suzanne in Uncategorized

It’s been a pretty quiet week for Greg, Kamea, and myself. Heck, to tell you the truth, it’s been a quiet summer for the most part. Not sure if quiet is the right word now that I think about it. I would say focused is more like it. Focused on Kamea. My life consists of everything Kamea. :) Sleeping when she sleeps (trying to), breastfeeding her, changing her diaper (navigating the whole cloth vs disposable, etc), reading to her, playing with her, trying babywearing, and basically just doing all things baby. Plus, making food for Greg and myself, and trying to work on some Kristen’s Raw projects. Lately though, Kamea isn’t letting me do that (she likes to be held all the time). Hence the lack of posting! We’re hopefully going to my mom’s soon to stay a few nights (our first over nighter with Kamea!). That will be so fun, although I’m not excited about packing for it.

I started reading a book, Shantaram, on my Kindle… has anyone read it? I’m enjoying it so far.

Oh! And, check out this adorable organic onesie that was sent to me as a gift from Organic Stitch. I love it!
